ASHI, the American Society of Home Inspectors, was founded in 1976 as a not-for-profit organization to develop awareness of home inspections and to improve and monitor the technical and professional performance of home inspectors. ASHI is the oldest and most respected professional association of home inspectors in North America.

ASHI's strict standards of practice are the most widely accepted home inspection guidelines in use today. ASHI members are committed to the highest quality of performance. They pursue continuing education and training to achieve and maintain membership. Members are bound by the ASHI Code of Ethics which ensures quality comprehensive analysis of a home's major systems and components.
